Senior Research Executive

  • The SRE will take responsibility for the design, execution and delivery of quantitative research projects (both adhoc and tracking) from taking a brief to presenting results.
  • In collaboration with the Research Manager or Director or managing Director, the incumbent will build existing business and client relationships and contribute to the development of junior team members.

Specifically, the SRE is responsible for :

Development of Client relationships :

  • Acquire relevant client background knowledge, must have a very clear understanding of client business, relationship building, meet deadlines, manage general client expectations, responsible for liaising with client on all aspects of the study, from briefing to presentation on a project basis

  • Responsible for managing new business of existing clients where relationships sit with the senior exec

Financial management :

  • Able to provide reliable and sensible costings in compliance with Kantar standards, and monitor sales, GM and OP on projects

  • Highlight costs and budget concerns with team to achieve on-budget projects

  • Propose cost saving solutions when possible

  • Internal reporting (Maconomy + Kantar monitoring and tracking tools)

Proposal process :

  • Provide sound research recommendations, apply appropriate research methodology and recommend appropriate Kantar solutions

  • Gather and check cost quotations against specification

Project management :

  • Competence and autonomy on simple projects with familiar clients

  • Quality control: sets standards of excellence, ensures high quality through thorough checking procedures, conduct detailed checks of proposals, questionnaires, discussion guides, presentations

  • Adopter and user of Kantar Signature, under supervision of a senior CS personnel

Analysis/reporting :

  • Quant specific: Brilliant basics on reporting skills (drafting a report, highlighting the right questions and insights, with satisfying writing skills)

  • Able to generate insights and recommendations to meet client needs without strong guidance from line manager

  • Collect general client information (e.g., newspaper articles/ industry reports) to share with team and input to analysis

  • Responsible for timely and quality deliverables

  • Required to present studies to the marketing and research teams

Leadership, team and people management :

  • Ensure directions are clear and questions where appropriate

  • Proactively responsible for their own learning and development

  • Promote team spirit

Communication :

  • Regular client contact including participation / observation of client

  • Liaise with client /relevant internal departments on project related matters

  • Prepare presentations using Kantar specific software.


  • Completed tertiary education – degree in Marketing, eg. B Com/B Bus Sc (preferably Hons); ie Licence en marketing, économie, statistiques ou sciences sociales, de préférence avec mention

  • Minimum of 3-5 years work experience in the research industry

  • Research acumen

  • Analytical ability with proven numeracy skills and obvious writing skills—in both English and French

  • Computer literacy – proficiency on all MS Office packages

  • Business writing skills, presentation skills, advanced commercial skills (cost and time management), project management skills

  • Organization and Administration skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Good command of English and French languages, written and spoken.
