Job description
As the Operations Manager, you will be a part of the Power Grids Division based in Abidjan, leading the Project Management Office (PMO) team. The Power Grids division is the world’s leading supplier of power and automation products, systems and service solutions across the power value chain of generation, transmission and distribution enabling a stronger, smarter and greener grid. 

Tasks 

Your main responsibilities will include; Project leadership: Implementing continuous improvements for the project execution strategy for the local project operation, in alignment with Middle East Africa Hub Business Unit (HBU) and Ivory Coast Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) business strategies. Project portfolio: Ensuring the local portfolio of projects is managed consistently, based on best practices and ABB Policies. Instructions and guidelines: Developing and continuously improving PMO processes based on best practices. Ensuring that findings from projects execution are incorporated in continuous improvement actions. Budget, sales and operations planning: Participating in Bid/Sales Phase, i.e. in estimating and resource planning. Project execution and control: Overseeing that project closures are performed properly and timely for all projects in the portfolio and also other project management activities. Taking an active role in resolving escalated issues. Contract and claims: Overseeing the proper application of contract and claim management methods in accordance with ABB policies and contractual agreements. Stakeholder relations: Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders of the PMO, and serving as an escalation point for individual and systemic project management issues. Health, Safety and Environment (HSE): Reinforcing and maintaining a culture of Health and Safety in all project operations. People leadership and development: Leading the PMO team to establish and enforce an effective project management approach to achieve both project and organizational goals. Developing the project management capacity and capability in line with ABB Group directives and processes. Guiding, motivating and developing direct and indirect reports. 

 

Requirements 

You should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics, with minimum 5 years of experience in PMO. Certification in Project Management is necessary. Experience in the management of project Managers team mainly in the electronics field and fluency in both spoken and written English and French language is a must for this position.
