BIA CI sa is looking for a Financial Controller to track our service delivery on a mining site based in the west of Cote d'Ivoire.

 

 

RESPONSABILITIES     

1.Accounting

- Support accounting activities of the site (Invoicing, payment of the receivable, petty cash) with accountants and business controller.

- Prepare OTIF contractual invoices (, Mgmt Fee, RI, GET & UC, Bonus availability, Disbursment Note and backcharges) according to contractual terms.

- Support in the implementation of an efficient local accountancy including but not limited to:

- On time, qualitative and exhaustive registration of all financial operations according to Group and local GAAPS (SYSCOHADA, IFRS).

- Support the internal accounting structure and systems according to business’ needs.

- Support to ensure respect of Group quality and timing requirements (On Time In Full) in the production of the monthly accounting data.

- Support to have qualitative month end and year-end closing with respect of the Group and legal timeframe requirements.

 

2.Internal Reporting

- Support controller to develop with Operations and Project Managers, relevant financial KPI’s to support them in the analysis and development of the business and project activities.

- Support controller to Provide Project Managers with adequate financial information to support them in their project management.

- Ensure financial information remains always available for the Finance & Project Manager and financial hierarchy of the Group.Be part of every mandatory HSE meeting + conduct safety meeting periodically.

 

3-Financial Controlling

- Support during the project Budget and forecasts processes (balance sheet and results accounts):

- Help in establishment of the yearly budget and forecast with the controller & Project Manager according to the Group instructions and planning:

- Support in analysis and control of the variations between actual, forecasts and budget,

- Support to control and optimize Company’s and project contribution:

- Help to ensure a perfect matching between costs and revenues (completeness and cut-off),

- monthly follow-up of the gross margin and support to explain its mains components and variations,

- Support to analyze direct, indirect and financial costs,

- Support to control and optimize balance sheet structure:

- Help to ensure follow-up of stock levels and valuation

 

4.Project Support

- Extract and collect data requested to prepare monthly reports.

- Support in the optimization of the contractual structure of contract

- Analysis of Project costs from different angles to obtain an insight into cost drivers and to identify where costs can be optimized.

- Consolidate data in the schedule and in project cost reports for project manager’s review and approval.

- Schedule all activities associated with assigned projects to produce an integrated schedule, update as required, and report potential problems/problem areas

- Measure financial impacts of different risks and opportunities of the project and insure a proactive follow up of margin’ targets, and financial flows.

 

5.Internal Control and Processes

- Align & coordinate Finance & admin policies and procedures on site.                                                                             

- Set Finance & Admin tools in place, supporting Site and Project Managers.

Use of ERP’s (SAP, R&M Care).

- Be support for a strong and efficient internal controls framework within the project:

- Help to implement locally all Group finance and administrative processes, procedures and instructions,

- Help to Identify internal controls gaps and weaknesses and where necessary propose specific procedures and controls to mitigate identified risks,

- When required propose recommendations and take actions to adjust identified deviations.

- Help to ensure that key financial controls are implemented and performed on a timely manner:

- Documentation of the monthly closing process;

- Performance and documentation of the key financial reconciliations (banks, petty cash, receivables and customer accounts details, fixed assets register and amortization schedule, intercompany reconciliations, etc.),

- Ensure that the document is kept for internal audit purpose.

- Support to develop, implement and optimize the ERP tools:

- Support when necessary to define project’s needs and participate to the ERP tools development and other module implementation;

- Work with project controller and IT in ensuring that the supporting ERP systems are configured to provide us with the required information in the most efficient manner.

- Assist in the implementation and publication of project controls tools and technical processes

- Automate manual processes to make data extraction/calculations/compilation streamlined and more efficient

 

6.Create a strong and  reliable network of support functions administrations

- On site staff/operations

- Customer staff

- Tax experts

- Accounting experts

 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERTISE

 

- Graduated in Management or accounting, Administration similar.

- At least 2-3 years ‘experience in a similar position

- Knowledge of regulations, policies and procedures.

- Familiarity of local culture and political landscape.

- Have strong experience in project/ mining contract

- Fluent French / English

- Good use of Microsoft Office

- Knowledge of SAP is a plus
